What is LifeBliss?

LifeBliss is a mindset, a practice and a worldview that spiritual sensuality, joy and relaxation help you access the energy, creativity and confidence to live your happiest, healthiest life. LifeBliss Wellness is based on the ancient teachings of tantra kriya yoga, particularly addressing the exhausting challenges of modern black women.

LifeBliss is the opposite of mainstream wellness, with its fear and conflict-driven patriarchal, puritanical approach to health, life and success. We as black women need rest and compassion in order to thrive, not a manufactured struggle to live a healthy lifestyle. The answer to our health challenges is not to force our bodies to do things they are not meant to do. Shrinking to a certain size, restricting food, punishing ourselves with exercise and pretending to love it is a proven losing strategy, and here’s why.

You’re tired, every day. There are so many things you really want to do, like start a business, travel, try a new hobby or just have more fun on the regular. But, you can’t find the time in your day to do any of this because you’re always exhausted. After the mundane requirements in your life, there’s just no energy left for what you may currently believe is healthy living. What is it that is keeping you sluggish and just getting by doing the bare minimum of what you really want out of your life? It is not just one thing, it’s a whole collection of daily lifestyle habits that keep you trapped in a cycle of lacking energy. Each one feeds your sluggishness directly and also indirectly by one affecting another.

The Cycle of Sluggishness LifeBliss

LifeBliss Wellness is for you if you find yourself low on energy, stressed and struggling to live a healthy lifestyle, but failing at it. Every new year you try to start anew, then every spring you say you’re gonna get yourself together, just to get caught up in all the other busy-ness you’ve got going on in your world and before you know it, it’s the holidays again and you feel guilty and frustrated because a whole nother year went by and you didn’t do a damn thing. Finally, you normalize being tired all the time and sadly, surrender to it. But there is a better way.

Sensual Spirituality is the Key to Sustainable Wellness

Back in the day I was a professional bellydancer. I was curious about spiritual movement and its divine feminine aspect to enhance my art and this caused me to stumble upon tantra kriya yoga, and over several years I studied and became a certified tantrika, or tantra teacher. Tantra in Sanskrit means to weave, as in weaving together health and spirituality. It is both worldly and universal, scientific and esoteric energy work. If I could describe it in its most simplistic way, tantra is a sensual spirituality practice that focuses on the senses, presence, mindfulness and non-judgmental acceptance.

Tantric teachings became practical ways to drastically improve quality of life by undoing a lifetime of beliefs and habits that feed the cycle of sluggishness. When you work in harmony with your body, mind and spirit, instead of fighting against them, life just flows effortlessly in the direction you want. The practices helped me become more me, and create a sensual, chill healthy lifestyle that reflects that. It helped me to quiet the external false healthy lifestyle chatter and live unapologetically. It changed my life and the lives of clients I have worked with for the better.
